The beach house is a perfect place to spend your well earned
vacation. You don't need to leave the house, kayak, kite surf, swim or relax. However, should
you choose to visit the Island for its arts and crafts, dining, hiking, cycling, entertainment or golfing,
all these options are nearby and available.
Fine dining establishments continue to increase on the Island. We are fortunate to have the winners
of PEI's 2007 "Taste Our Island" Award just 5 minutes away. Dianna will be happy to serve you one
of her mouth watering creations at Cafe Maplethorpe in Bedeque. She serves dishes made of organic ingredients
and local foods. Her cheesecake is to "die for".
If you just want to relax
and look at the stars, then you may be interested to expand your look from our deck to the Starry Starry Night Experience. Ron and Rolly from the local Astronomy Club will give you a closer
look through a huge telescope.
Anne of Green Gables, the Musical, at Confederation
Center of the Arts in Charlottetown. See one of the best musicals ever put on stage, the famous musical Anne of Green
Gables. It is a must see family classic. There are plenty of activities surrounding the magic of Anne's stories.
Avonlea
Village, in Cavendish. This is a good spot to visit if you are familiar with "Anne of Green Gables"
or want to learn about her story. The village takes you back to Anne’s homeland where she grew up and the story is re-enacted
throughout the day. There are actual artifacts from the story.
Founders Hall, downtown Charlottetown. Learning
Canada’s history is fun at Founders' Hall. Be transported back in time with the use of multi-million dollar technology,multi-media
interpretation, and realistic and interactive displays. Visitors will begin their journey into the pages of history in Charlottetown
in 1864 as the Fathers of Confederation meet to discuss the birth of this great nation and will follow the path of confederation
arriving back in present-day Canada having experienced the story of our country first-hand through multi-sensory, interactive
learning.
Golfing. PEI is ranked the #1 destination for golf in the country. There are almost thirty golf courses.
The College of Piping in Summerside. The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada, has been actively offering instruction in Highland
Bagpiping, Scottish style Sanere Drumming, Highland Dancing and Step Dancing. It presents summer long Celtic Festivals.
Bike/walk the Confederation Trail. Developed
along railway lines, this 180-mile hiking and biking trail passes through scenic villages and towns across Prince Edward Island.
